Passing Down a Name

Image
In a lot of family’s names are passed down to future generations. This is also prevalent in my family with the first name “Zuzana”. I would like to continue this tradition by passing down the name Zuzana if I have a daughter. Zuzana is a family name from my mother’s side although it’s prevalent throughout both sides of my family. Zuzana is my mother’s name, my aunt’s name, my cousin’s name (which is sometimes confusing). I think Zuzana is more than just a family name but also sounds very nice. I hate the name “Susana” or “Susan” but the “Z” sound is one of my favorite sounds (IDK if that’s weird or makes sense). But the “Z” sound reminds me of a bee or buzzing sound. I like any names that start with a Z. Zuzana is the Slovak equivalent of Susana and is a semi-popular name there but it sounds very different. I also like the shortening of Zuzana, “Zuzi” (Zoo-Zee) or “Zuzka”. You can also choose different nicknames from Zuzana like “Ana” or “Zuz”. All of these variations are very adorable

I like spoilers...

Whenever I read a fictional book (a book I enjoy I read for fun and entertainment instead of … you know… school) I get really impatient. I get to the middle section of the book and then I get really antsy and skip to the end of the book. I read the last 10-20 pages and then I go back to where I was before. I know this might upset some reading-enthusiasts but whatever, I like doing this. It’s the same with TV shows. When I watch a movie or TV, I HATE the feeling of not knowing. Like if there’s going to be a plot twist in season 5 then I want to know in season 1. That means that once I start a show, I usually look up the ending on Wikipedia before I’m even done with the first episode. I wish I could re(experience) watching/reading a book or movie for the first time. Like I would want to watch The Sixth Sense once knowing the twist and then another time without knowing the twist. Or with Seven, I would want to watch it once without knowing how it ends and then anothe

Traveling in Alaska?

If I could go anywhere in the world I would want to go to Alaska. Maybe not during the winter with freezing weather because Alaska but maybe during the Summer when it’s warmer. I think Alaska is beautiful and full of nature. It’s one of the least populated states so it’s not only large but also empty. If I could go anywhere I would want to drive to Alaska which is around 60 hours one way. Then I would like to spend a few months traveling around Alaska visiting various National Parks while hiking and camping. I would want to travel around the national parks in Alaska because they are some of the biggest and most beautiful. Within Alaska, there are eight national parks, including the top four largest National parks. Something that bothers me about living in Central Illinois is that everything around us is very flat and boring. The cornfields and soybeans are nice to look at for like 5 minutes but we don’t have any large mountain ranges or lakes or anything else exciting.  I also

Cold Hard Sleep

Something that makes me happy? I’m always happy falling asleep in my room with the door outside open. Let me explain. My room has a sliding glass door that leads into the backyard. There are two layers to the door. One is a netting while the other is a glass door. (I think this is unusual for bedrooms but if anyone else has this in their room please let me know). During the winter/fall I like to open the door outside (but leave the netting door so bugs can’t get in). Usually, I leave it open for any weather over 45 degrees. Even though it gets really chilly I sleep with like 3-4 blankets, so I feel pretty warm. I really want to try sleeping with a weighted blanket because that sounds suppppeer comfy. I think sleep is the best thing in the world. Any kind of sleep (long naps, short naps, just good solid sleep). Falling asleep to the cold is the best kind of sleep. You feel better rested afterward. With leaving my door open I do get worried that there’s a serial kil

Waving on the Road

As a regular CU-MTD bus rider there are a lot of advantages and disadvantages (mostly that UofI students are absolutely clueless about everything). However, as a bus-rider, there is one really cool thing that I’ve noticed. When two bus drivers are driving past each other they usually wave to each other. If one bus driver is going to the Illinois Union and another bus is coming from the Illinois Union, then they will wave to each other (I once saw three bus drivers wave at each other simultaneous which was particularly amazing). They’re not communicating any important information about traffic, safety, or anything else “important”. Instead, they’re just saying hello; a nice little gesture. It’s something I noticed today on my way to school, although I’ve seen it several times before. I don’t think a lot of other people have observed this since people on the bus are usually on their phones, talking to their friends, or otherwise distracted. I feel like I’m seeing a secr
